Collaboration between EAB Excellent and Zuidgeest Kappers

22 February 2025

In 2024, Zuidgeest Kappers entered into a strategic partnership with EAB Excellent to optimize energy management and sustainable operations. This collaboration began with outsourcing energy procurement to EAB Excellent and quickly grew into a joint mission to make Zuidgeest Kappers’ operations more sustainable.

The next step toward sustainability

The first major step in this process was the transition from gas to electricity at all sites. This transition led to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. By choosing electricity, which is increasingly being generated from renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydroelectric power, Zuidgeest Kappers is contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future. This switch is an important milestone in the energy transition, in which the Netherlands is striving for a completely CO2-neutral energy supply.

For Zuidgeest Kappers, the transition to electricity means not only a significant step toward sustainability, but also an investment in the company’s future. To further strengthen this sustainable strategy, all premises are equipped with energy-efficient Led lighting.

LED Lighting

LED lighting is the most sustainable lighting option available today. These bulbs use up to 80% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs, resulting in significantly lower energy costs and a reduction in carbon footprint. In addition, Led lights have a much longer lifespan, often up to 25,000 hours or more, which not only reduces the need for replacement but also dramatically lowers maintenance costs.

Energy Monitoring System (EMS).

Thanks to EAB Excellent’s Energy Monitoring System (EMS), Zuidgeest Kappers can accurately monitor how much energy is being saved, both in kilowatt-hours (kWh) and in financial savings. This system provides insight into the actual return on the sustainable investments, which enables further optimization.

The cooperation between Zuidgeest Kappers and EAB Excellent is so successful that both parties have decided to enter into a long-term agreement for the coming years. Both companies share an ambitious vision and see many opportunities to further strengthen the sustainability of Zuidgeest Kappers. This cooperation allows them to take important steps towards a sustainable future, where both the environment and the business benefit from joint efforts!
